Hi,
I am from the Gold Coast and I have been caught drink driving over the weekend and blew .165%. It is my first offence and have no idea what to expect penalty wise. I really need to have my licence for work purposes and just to get around. Can anyway help me? Look forward to a response.
J :)

Dear Jemima,

As far as disqualifications are concerned there is a general minimum of 6 months for readings of 0.15 or over. Having said that you should get specific advice from a solicitor as to where you would fall above that point. The circumstances of the offence are critical in this regard.

Re penalty - fines are within range. Again you would need advice specific to your circumstances.

Unfortunately people with readings over 0.15 are not eligible for work licences in Queensland.
